ePortfolios: A Meaningful Assessment

Why?
Many of us have explored using portfolios. Sue, I know. Janet? Me, yep. I like the holistic look at the journey of a class and the use of a portfolio as a tool that allows unique opportunity for students to reflect on their work, their learning, and what it means to them as they grow an identity as a learner, a scholar, even.

The thing is, these mammoth folders or notebooks of paper don't survive much beyond that term grade. And let's face it, the validity in paper is waning. Technology is where it's at: color, animation, funky design, music, even. Students can personalize their portfolios and return to them over and over again and update them for work and school.

Rubrics are an important part of portfolios. Need to add ideas here about that.

- I've horsed around at this free site and like it although it's a bit tricky. Pretty fun. Please don't judge me. I was hacking. I'm a much better writer than this. Smiley face.
